About our cause

Our Community Wellbeing programme is designed to help people living with anxiety, depression, social isolation, bereavement, trauma and any other life circumstances that are affecting their wellbeing.

The aim of the service is to provide a safe, therapeutic space where people can come to learn how to support themselves with a variety of holistic wellbeing skills, connect with other members of the community and feel empowered to live healthy, fulfilled lives.

The programme includes:

  • Group courses on a range of wellbeing topics
  • Monthly drop-in sessions
  • Monthly peer support group

Sessions are held in person at The Isbourne or at external venues in the community where the need arises.  Online sessions are available for some courses.

Topics are delivered by our team of affiliated tutors and include Mindfulness, Art, Dance & Movement, Qigong, Mindset, Sleep, Nutrition, Music, EFT (Tapping), Gentle Yoga and more.

From 2023, the previous 'Tai chi movements for Dementia' course will also be brought under the Community Wellbeing series with Cheltenham Lottery funds being distributed where it is required dependent on the courses being delivered based on community needs and demand.

Renamed as Mindful Movement for Cognitive Health, this tai-chi based course entails therapeutic movement for living with dementia and neurological conditions such as Parkinsons, MS and Stroke recovery, with their carers or loved ones encouraged to attend together.  Tai chi can have profound benefits for mental, physical and emotional health, including slowing the onset and progression of dementia and other illnesses.

All Community Wellbeing sessions include social time and refreshments to encourage people to make connections within their community.

The Isbourne Foundation is passionate about providing a service for vulnerable people in the community but we do rely on funding so we need your help so we can continue to offer and expand our project.

Thank you for your support and good luck!

With best wishes

Bonnie Lloyd, Outreach Manager
